Assuming that y'all have a CD drive that is capable of writing (burning) CDs, then this is one of those cases where the built-in Windows XP Assistance and Support actually has the reply for you.  Click Kickoff > Assistance and Support so type

Re-create files to CD

in the Search box and click the arrow.  This is what you'll get --

To re-create files and folders to a CD

  1. Insert a blank, writable CD into the CD recorder.
  2. Open My Computer.
  3. Click the files or folders you want to re-create to the CD. To select more than than 1 file, hold down the CTRL fundamental while you click the files you want. And so, under File and Binder Tasks, click Copy this file, Copy this folder, or Copy the selected items.
  4. If the files are located in My Pictures, under Movie Tasks, click Copy to CD or Re-create all items to CD, and and then skip to step 5.
  5. In the Copy Items dialog box, click the CD recording drive, and and so click Copy.
  6. In My Computer, double-click the CD recording bulldoze. Windows displays a temporary area where the files are held earlier they are copied to the CD. Verify that the files and folders that you lot intend to copy to the CD announced under Files Prepare to be Written to the CD.
  7. Nether CD Writing Tasks, click Write these files to CD. Windows displays the CD Writing Wizard. Follow the instructions in the sorcerer.

Notes

  • To open My Computer, click Kickoff, and and so click My Computer.
